Salisbury School
Salisbury, Maryland
This school in both its major phases is an illustration of economy of means without a shortage of excitement. The original school and the upper school completed 25 years later each had very tight budgets and the upper school had an impossibly short timeframe so making the most of inexpensive materials as well as time was crucial to the project. Simple shapes are adorned with inexpensive materials used in novel ways and the interior, open plan is skewed to offer a dynamic spirit within the context of quite limited means.
