Galbreath Pavilion at the Ohio Theatre

The project begins with a flamboyant and magnificent old movie palace designed by Thomas Lamb that was protected by landmark designation. The challenge was to take the movie theatre and transform the structure into a full performance theatre and satisfy all the technical challenges within that assignment. Besides providing the necessary functional elements, the theatre is an important piece of the city center along with the State Capitol. The narrow addition enhances connections to the public esplanade while providing an opportunity to totally reconfigure the interior spaces for the full range of performance activities.
