Buildings that attempt to be great at diverse tasks sometimes end up being mediocre at many. It takes innovation to look at a design problem and find an ingenious solution. At the Globe News Center for the Performing Arts, the community of Amarillo wanted one auditorium to house orchestral and theatrical performances and for both functions to be of utmost quality. This combination is not new but most performance venues find that to balance these very different programs there are significant compromises. Holzman Moss Architecture offered an innovative solution, one that allows both functions to reach the highest levels of excellence.
