ORDINARY MADE EXTRAORDINARY

Metal panels developed for cattle trucks clad the lobby ceiling and the underside of the Center’s soaring roofline. The textured and punched, mass-produced panels are economical yet create shimmering drama for the Center’s most public spaces. Oriented strand board is a low-cost building material rarely used for its visual or acoustical properties. When used creatively it adds exceptional warmth and richness to the spectacular auditorium space.

DYNAMIC LOCAL SYMBOLS

Shapes, colors, and materials from the regional landscape are interpreted to create unique architectural forms and lively interior spaces. Irrigation patterns from West Texas farmland inspired the upholstery patterns for the theater seating and lobby carpeting. The undulating red sandstone walls of the Center echo the dramatic, variegated rock formations of near-by Palo Duro Canyon.
