Shepherd University, Master PlanShepherdstown, West VirginiaDate: 2004
Size: 323 acresThe master plan is comprehensive and inclusive of community concerns in an attempt to find solutions that have vision beyond just the campus. Pedestrian pathways, traffic and parking concerns and issues of renovations and new buildings to be added are all addressed to focus in on a master plan that has clarity and foresight. The master plan looks at ways to strengthen social hubs on each side of the dividing roadway but also create new, more workable linkages across the same road. Developing a useful plan under such parameters is not easy, but once completed, the institution will be able to realize their vision and take the University forward as it grows.
