INTIMACY

Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi, Performing Arts Center
Corpus Christi, Texas

Date: 2005 Size: 55,000 s.f.

The A&M campus at this coastal Texas City is growing and with increased student population comes the desire for enhanced cultural opportunities that offer something to both the University and the City. The Performing Arts Center is both a teaching venue as well as a stage for the local symphony and as such it must address the needs of different audiences and performers. Holzman Moss Architecture developed a tightly wrapped, almost circular plan that provides a sense of intimacy for a wide range of performances. The result is a comfortable environment for professional musicians and the young performers alike no matter the number of audience members or performers.
