The Winspear Auditorium literally sings with this special body inside its protective shell. The armadillo metaphor is simply one of many examples of the improvisational nature of design at Holzman Moss Architecture. To improvise is to compose spontaneously with ingenuity using the readily available materials. The Murchison Center exemplifies the firm's continued ability to compose a lyrical composition in built form that recognizes existing conditions yet finds inspiration to delight and surprise.
